History:
The Burlington Roseland neighborhood was first developed in 1925. It is close to Burlington Mall as well as the downtown core making it easy for residents to access stores, services, and restaurants. The developer was Hughes Cleaver who was clearly influenced by English Garden Style suburbs that were popular at the time. Cleaver made sure the beautiful boulevards that shape the neighborhood were lined with trees. Those trees are now fully mature and provide a beautiful green canopy for the neighborhood. The Roseland survey was followed in 1925 by the Hillcrest Survey developed by Virgil Ross Hart who espoused the same neighborhood design principles as Hughes Cleaver. The houses in this part of the neighborhood were built in the 1930s and 40s.
