Homes for sale in Milton
History:
It was in 2010 when the Town of Milton passed a by-law that approved the proposed Derry Green Business Park plan. The park is not a park, in truth. It’s a business hub, located between James Snow Parkway, Highway 401 and Sixth Line. Derry Road and Fifth Line run right through the heart of the Derry Green Business Park. And the town has tasked Destiny Milton II with designing the 2,000 square acre urban centre to look modern and be easily accessible.
Not long ago, Milton was a small town with a humble population and a blue collar identity. Over the past ten years, things have drastically changed as many economic growth concepts have been carefully theorized, planned and implemented. The Derry Green Business Park is one of Milton’s finest new developments. It is a proposed business centre — one of two giant economic hubs within Milton — that will vastly improve the town’s infrastructure and wealth.
The Derry Green Business Park will attract businesses to Milton. There will be a hike in job opportunities, right here in town. Many who live in Milton will no longer need to make the long trek southeast to earn a paycheque or to shop for certain items that could not be found in the Milton of yesteryear. Nice restaurants will open their doors. Nightlife will improve. Patios will spread across rooftops and sidewalks. Milton will embrace economics and culture. And yet, it will still be Milton, a beautiful place to live, where quiet side streets contain well-kept houses with colorful gardens and friendly homeowners out walking the dog.
Overview:
Derry Green Business Park is a new commercial development area in Milton. The Derry Green Corporate Business Park, expected to accommodate Milton’s future employment growth, will be developed in the years 2021-2031. The business park, approximately 800 hectares (2,000 acres) in size, will offer proximity to the Canadian Pacific railway line. The railway can accommodate freight shipping; however, access to the rail line may be challenging as the northern trail is heavily used by GO Transit. The proposed lands zoned for industrial development, which are currently vacant or used for agricultural purposes, are held by private owners. Presently, land zoned for industrial development within the park is located north of Derry Road West and south of the railway.

“Our new school boasted a beautifully designed building with a double gym, a large stage, computer lab, specialty classrooms, and a beautiful library, filled with many of our old favorites, as well as new selections and technology.
We are so blessed to have a caring and nurturing staff who model our Catholic values and support the children, both spiritually and academically. We also have very active parent volunteers and a dedicated Catholic School Council. We also appreciate the entire Pastoral team at Holy Rosary Parish, who provides guidance and dedication to the faith development of our students. We appreciate their assistance and the spiritual presence that they bring to our school community.
As we continue to move forward, St. Peter Catholic School will continue to foster community partnerships, and strong traditions that deepen as new children, parents, and staff continue to join in our school family. We celebrate and give thanks to all who participate in cultivating the close working relationship that exists between home, school, and church.
